Here’s a large Hawk’s Nose Herkimer Diamond quartz crystal.  It is named that because the two end terminations point in opposite directions.  These crystals are extremely rare for the Herkimer Diamond District.  As far as I know, they are only found at Paradise Falls and Turtle Clan Ridge herkimer diamond localities.

Always the 3rd weekend of July!

Gem, crystal, fossil, and mineral dealers / festival vendors.

Golden healer Herkimer Diamonds are double terminated quartz crystals where iron oxides seeped into the actual crystal versus just a coating of iron on the surface.  They are coveted by metaphysical mineral collectors for their healing properties.  This specimen was dug at Paradise Falls in Middleville, New York, U.S.A.  It is a nice, golden gem!

Some rare Herkimer Diamonds with pyrite and marcasite inclusions.  There were found collecting years ago at Hanson/Benchmark Quarry in St. Johnsville, New York.  Some of the crystals have what looks like a coral reef of pyrite throughout them!  Nothing has ever been found before or since that resemble these amazing specimens.

Some rare, unique finds from Pennsylvania!  Smoky quartz crystals, many skeletal/elestial formations, and some smaller gemmy crystals, too.  They resemble skeletal Herkimer Diamonds commonly found in Little Falls, NY.  These amazing specimens were discovered in the Susquehanna River basin recently.  Collecting is not permitted at these localities, they are private property.
